Community Center to Get Brand-New Parking Lot at No Cost

Let’s Pave is donating materials and labor services to reconstruct the parking lot at Jones Memorial Community Center in Chicago Heights. The Center provides youth programs and family services for low-income households in the South Suburbs of Chicago.

The parking lot at the Jones Center is heavily used. Aside from parking, dozens of cars pick up and drop off kids every day for classes and activities.  Cheryl Roop, Executive Director of the Jones Center, admits, “There’s no doubt wear and tear on the parking lot exists, but sufficient funding to make the necessary repairs does not.” Rather than wait any longer, Cheryl reached out to our Founder, C.B. Kuzlik.

“In addition to owning and operating Let’s Pave, C.B. also serves as a key member of the Jones Center Board. I knew he would help us plan and budget for a long-term solution,” Cheryl said.  She continued, “Not only was C.B. happy to get involved, but he offered to manage and perform the work for us at no cost! I was extremely grateful, but not surprised. C.B. and everyone at Let’s Pave is always eager to give back to the Jones Center and the community at large.”

The reconstruction project will begin on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at 7am and will finish in the afternoon. The scope of work includes complete asphalt removal and replacement of the parking lot along with lot marking.

“The Jones Center holds a special place in my heart,” said C.B.  “The Center serves a vital role for low-income youth, families, and senior citizens and I am privileged and honored to assist how I can.  This small act of service will make a big impact on the safe usability of their parking lot for many years to come.”
